Q&A
Q: What services does Ground Up Branding offer?
A: Ground Up Branding provides branding services for businesses, including logo design, website design, and content creation to name some of the things.

Q: Assets: Do I need to provide my own branding photos and copy?
A: You have total flexibility. You can either provide all of your own content (photos, text, videos), or I can professionally create it for you from scratch. Ground Up Branding is a true one-stop shop; I can design your color palettes and logos, write your copy, build your website, and produce your photography and videography.

Q: Brand vs. Logo: Isn't branding just getting a logo designed?
A: No, a logo is simply a visual symbol for your business, but your brand is the entire experience, reputation, and foundation. While a logo is a key piece of the puzzle, branding covers your color psychology, typography, professional voice, target audience alignment, and how you consistently present your business to the world. I build brands from the ground up so you have a solid foundation, not just a graphic.

Q: Control: Will I be locked into a contract to keep my website updated?
A: Absolutely not. My ultimate goal is to put the most important part of your business back in your own hands. As we build your brand and website, I communicate and teach you my exact methods every step of the way. When your project is complete, you will fully understand how to manage and maintain your own brand assets and website without being forced to pay ongoing retainer fees. NOTE: I do offer a Monthly Maintence Agreement that includes making sure your website continues to work as created. I understand the "Tech" part isn't for everyone.
Q: Development: What is the difference between "rebranding" and a "brand refresh"?
A: A brand refresh is like a makeover—we keep your existing foundation but update the "look" (like tweaking your color palette, modernizing your logo, or updating your website layout). A rebrand is a deeper, structural shift where we might redefine your target audience, change your business name (like when I successfully transitioned 2 Week Sites into Ground Up Branding), or completely overhaul your market positioning.
Q: Entertainment & Talent: Do you offer branding services for musicians, actors, and models?
A: Yes, extensively. Through my integrated division, Nashville Production Studio (NPS), I work with bands, singers, songwriters, composers, actors, and models. I help talent master the business side of the entertainment industry—including public image coaching, media training, Electronic Press Kit (EPK) creation, and aligning your personal brand with local and national casting agencies.
Q: Fees: Do you offer any discounted rates or free services?
A: I price my premium professional services to reflect over 30 years of global industry expertise. However, I am deeply committed to giving back. I dedicate a specific, limited portion of my business to providing "scholarship" services for select 501(c)(3) nonprofits and early-stage startups without capital.
Q: Goals: What information do you need from me to start my project?
A: To design a brand that truly resonates with your audience, I need to deeply understand your business’s goals, mission, and vision. I will also want to look at any past promotional efforts you’ve made and the results of those attempts. I have compiled a simple, downloadable checklist of everything we need to get started, which you can access via the links at the bottom of this page.

Q: How long does a typical branding and website build take?
A: Because I focus on highly efficient, momentum-driven workflows, my timeline is designed to get you up, running, and competitive quickly. Depending on whether you are providing your own content or having me create the photography, videography, and copy from scratch, most foundational branding and website builds are completed in a matter of weeks, rather than the months required by traditional, slow-moving agencies.
PAYMENT
We offer a variety of payment options to fit your needs.

Our standard way to work is to create a proposal. When the proposal is accepted, it turns into the invoice. We require a deposit of 30-50% depending on the specifications of what you are needing. To start establishing all the elements to get your brand started, there is sometimes a fee included. This will all be communicated. Upon completion, the remainder of the invoice will be paid in full with a net 10.
For those looking for a long-term commitment:
-
We offer a negotiated monthly, bi-weekly or weekly service fee based on scope of work. In this negotiation, I make myself available to you when you need me for any of the services I can provide.
For those preferring a less long-term commitment:
-
We offer an hourly rate for the hours worked.
-
A flat fee
-
And a Per-task charge

There is a possibility we could negotiate a partnership agreement with compensation based on a contractual agreement approved by both parties.
For those who prefer a royalty-based payment system, I am also open to negotiating these terms.
